Mainframe Research is an independent research initiative studying the human systems that sustain mainframe infrastructure — the engineers, the teams, the cultural norms, and the operational constraints that determine whether these platforms thrive or quietly deteriorate.

KPIs measure platform uptime. Nobody measures the engineer. This research begins to change that. Participation is anonymous — responses are de-identified at the point of collection, structurally decoupled from any individual identity, and stored without personally identifiable information. Findings are published openly as practitioner briefs — actionable, evidence-based, and free to use.

This research carries no commercial mandate. No vendor affiliation, no product to validate, no consulting engagement waiting at the end. The only output is published research, openly licensed and answerable to practitioners.
